A few years ago I designed a hydraulic drive system for a guy who specialises in building amphibious vehicles for tv and film. I would love his job. To be honest, designing and building machinery was really enjoyable too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy in my work, I make a decent whack, no complaints. Plus I've had a myriad of different jobs, almost all of them low skill.

But, I have always admired engineers, both diesel and hydraulic. Fixing stuff is magic. Given a choice, what would you do? Excluding professional sportsman or fluffer on a porn movie (Before you start Mr Bolam)

i do trees and heavy plant and after doing plant for 20 odd years its not glamourous try fixing a dumper thats shat its pants in the middle of a landfill the bit where they tip nappies and slaughter house crap or digging grease out the slew ring on a mining shovel with a wetsuit on trust me you would want to be back in the trees its far better mrs smith bringing out a cup of tea than some tit going off there trolley because they're diggers broke down

Footballer. Plant explorer would be good. However I drifted into Horticulture and Arboriculture whilst training three years with a pro football club. If I knew what I know now about exercise I would have made it; 14lbs heavier and 2 inches taller would have helped.
