That's one of my locals near where I work, there's a few concrete pineapples plastered on the wall but I don't recall there being a Pineapple tree outside it :confused1::biggrin:

Pineapples grow on a low plant like a Yucca. It does sound like it should grow on a pine tree though and looks a bit like a closed pine cone.

Not sure if this counts but there is a pub called the Chestnut Horse in a village near me called Great Finborough. On the green opposite is a large Horse Chestnut.

 

 

Ps. Not to be confused with the Hungry Horse Chestnut chain of pubs. Quite possibly the most depressing places I have ever experienced!

A lot of old coaching inns used to plant Walnut Trees as there is a chemical in the leaves that deters flies when rubbed on Horses. These coaching houses then became The Walnut Tree
