Lad! He may deserve a Darwin Award but didn't many of the mad inventors who have changed how we live done so at massive personal risk. For those that survive.... Oh wait we already mastered flight so no need..... He was just being a lad!

The man has balls, but can't help feeling it was an incredibly stupid thing to do that could have had serious consequences.

Maybe I need to get a life ?

JHC!

WTF is your problem?, this addressed to all those numb-nuts who, in the linked article, made out like he was some kinda airborne Attilla the Hun cum Adolf cum Stalin cum Pol Pot cross-bred wit Idi Amin, 'n a wee dose o ISIS thrown in forby.

Get a life, and a grasp of realities, likelyhood of risk/harmful outcome etc. etc.

PS

Note the one sensible opinion from the professional Pilot!

What a legend! And let's face it he had a parachute, so the odds of anything going wrong were equal to or less than a quick drive to the shops.

He must walk with a John Wayne swagger though cause he has some nuts on him👍🏻

I like the mention of the "other guy" that tried something similar - he had helium weather balloons (a bit more durable) and a hand gun to shoot out the balloons if he went too high!

He clearly put a bit more thought into his brilliantly reckless endeavour.

Now that's the kind of bloke you want on a lads weekend in Prague - some kind of insane cross between Felix Baumgartner and Shelby from Swamp Loggers!

It's a fine line between brilliance & insanity...

Was he looking for a Darwin Award?

You do know that's not a real thing don't you ?

He went up fully prepared with a chute to get him back down, just didn't come down in exactly the predicted spot. I'd say he achieved 80% of his original objective unscathed so all in a good result. It's looking like thunder out so I'm just going to get my kite ready to fly, what's the feed in tariff nowadays as I see free electricity coming my way.

Not the first person to launch themself with a bunch of balloons and a garden/deck. And thankfully for those that like or even need a little homegrown madness, he won't be the last.
