My red and black 550 was delivered today(Jonsered 2253) awsome saw, seems to do a lot of work on a tank full of fuel. The book says too start them off with hard work but not high revs. Put mine to work sawing 10'' -14" larch logs lengthways into quarters for fencing posts.

Sorry to hi jack an old thread. But my 550 which has been great for four years has just started playing up. It starts fine and runs on half choke. And it's runs fine on full throttle but as soon as you let go it dies. I have checked fuel filter and spark plug. Any ideas what else it could be would be greatly appreciated.

This happened to my dad's 435, when we put it in the shop he said it was the coil. Definitely something to do with fuel, might be as simple as tweaking carb idle settings, not that I would want to mess with the auto-tune carb...

That's the point . You cant adjust the idle on an A/T carb . It does it itself . The A/T will compensate for slight air leaks and variations in ambient tep/pressure . If its not able to do this ( as it seems yours cant ) then take it in to the dealers and get it plugged in .
