550 xp problems

Recommended Posts

Would love to join in and say how my 550 and 560 are performing ..... But the 18 month old 560 has been in the repair shop for 6 weeks getting a new crank shaft and while it was in there my 6 month old 550 was stolen. Loved to use both saws but fed up with the reliability issues with both. If husky could sort that it would be a no brainer when choosing saws. As it is, I've just bought Stihl 362, 461 and 881 even though I've always had huskies in the past.

On a 25" I would not know joe but it will cut 25" rings twice as fast on a 15" when the 460's on a 25" running side by side that I do know.

I can see that. My ported 357 would be close.

However I often use the 460 on timber well over 36" so it's not quite redundant to me :)

Plus you wouldn't use a 560 in a tree on 25" timber, would you?

I would not use either of my 460's on a 20"and 25" for any thing if I could help it not overly keen on my 576 on a 24" either, rung down this on a 560 today 25" timber until it was low enough to fit the gap , I would take the 576 for rigging and big lumps and the 560 for rings up too 25"

All day relentless ringing up for oversized stuff the processor won't touch the other is my dads slabbing saw , I won't touch them though I've got some feeling back in my hands since I stopped using 044's 460's over ten years ago and my fingers have stopped locking up , they are possibly the worse saws for anti vibes I've used , alright for the old man though as what fingers are left there is no feeling.

460 isn't a 70cc saw tho; nearer 80 class at 76.5cc. 441 is your 70 jug.

Fair enough. I love the works 460 on 25". My own 441 (manual carb) is okay on a 20", but if a 560 can beat it with an 18" bar I guess it's a winner!

Matty, I love cutting oversized timber with a fast saw on the deck, but couldn't be faffing with spiking round the trunk doing it!
