Whats the current state of the industry workwise?

Unusually had a busy jan and feb ,then dropped off to a point when its been quiet for a month or two, phone not ringing although i spend a kings ransome on advertising.

Averaging now only couple of jobs a week, and that is better than some of my fellow tree boys hereabouts, who have called me of an evening wondering whether to get out altogether to get some fresh money coming in.

Ime of the opinion that the only busy guys,in this area leastways, are those that prefer to work for beer money.

I've been speaking to a few local business owners here lately and they are all saying the last month has been the quietest for years.

Lots of bad news in the global economy of late, China's stocks are dropping like hot rocks and Greece is another problem. Iron ore prices from here have dropped significantly.

Then the UK has got the referendum!

I really don't know how any one can say the state of the industry is good when prices for a team of blokes have gone down and not up in 15 years and with the price of training insurance ect the golden days of tree work have long gone it appears to be a long hard slog with not much light at the end of the tunnel...... Just to cheer you all up!! .... Forestry is no better either despite there been more demand for biomass timber than ever the price per tonne in retro spect to living has not changed.

Must be more money down your part of Surrey Al.

A bit quiet up this end.

I don't know Al. I'm not pricing tight and the work is still flowing in.

My kids broke up last week and state schools next week so this is the time my phone normally goes quiet.

This post will be the kiss of death of course!

:(
