Funny isn't it, when he was alive he was a drunken laughing stock.

Dead, he's JFK crossed with Gandhi.

That's pretty disrespectful Mick.

His honesty about his problems with alcohol made me think more of the man, not less.

An ill thought out post, probably better to keep your mouth shut than let the verbal diarrhoea flow.

Depends Dave, if he dropped dead tomorrow we'd be saying what a steadying influence he was in the coalition and what a great orator he was. (Which strangely I think to a certain extent)

Yes, he may well have assisted, but we will never know, because we can't know how David would have done on his own. But Clegg is not well liked and would soon be forgotten, IMO.

Of cause people seldom speak ill of the dead, but in Charles Kennedy case he was genuinely well thought of, by most regardless of party politics or difference of opinion.

He came across as honest and genuine, warts and all.

Sort of understand where your coming from, take princess Diana, while she was alive for the last couple of years the press made her out to be an absolute slut, when she died she was the princess of hearts etc. BUT mr kennedy was one of the honest politicians you could find, sure he was a drunk but he admitted it.
