Turns out ringing up knotty bits of pine to 10-14" rings to be split with an axe was pretty dumb. Won't make that mistake twice :blushing:

 

Aye, best 'split' longitudinally with a chainsaw. Or binned. Been there, spent mos tof the time hammering wedges back out of the rings, in to the hilt but ring showing no sign of giving up.

No splitting equipment here skyhuck I'm too tight for that when I'm not processing them to sell
