That's what I thought especially having 9 discos over 20 years. As one motor trader said their crap but you got to have one. The compressor is a very good example of a poorly made component but that will be the least of your problems I did 10,000 miles in mine with about 2,000 miles towing 3500kg and it just fell around our ears I spent more time in our 16 year old landcruiser which never misses a beat. I can't name one component on the disco 4 that does not have known problems. I won't list the faults again and I hope anyone buying one loves it and has better luck than we did but it's best to know up front it could just be the later disco 4 is more electronic.

My mate had a 08 model and god rid of it at 59000 miles. It was never out of the garage in the 3 years he had it , he said the tyres were the longest lasting parts on it
