I've just bought 6 stihl chainsaws from an auction all in very good condition just requiring bars and chains the biggest is the ms361 which I have intensions of keeping as a back up for my husky 560xpg but it would be replacing 357xpg if I decide to keep it, obviously I'll try it out a bit first to see if I can get on with a stihl but just wondered if anyone on here has had any problems with one.

The 357xpg is 15 years old and never missed a beat but it's starting to take about 6 pulls of the cord now before it fires so I guess it's getting a little tired.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

There is things I liked better about the 361 over the 357 and there was things about the 357 I liked over the 361. You'll just have to run and decide.

IMO the 361 needs a simple muffler mod and carb retune to wake up.

If you decide you don't like it I'd be interested in acquiring it :sneaky2:

361 was rated as one of the best saws out there, I always preferred the 357 though but a good clean saw is worth keeping or should go for decent money.

Great saw for Arb negates the need for a dressing out saw and a small felling saw like the 400 and IMO was far better than the newer 362 but for forestry the husky wins with the extra power.
