celox first timer

my business partner had a close shave today with a new 550 cut right across the wrist heres the pics this is the first time we have had to use celox and i was a bit sceptical when i opened the pack i thought it was a pack of sawdust i had been sold but hey it works the saw wasn't even running it was sitting in the back of the chipper and he drew his wrist across the bar be careful chaps

no surgery to remove the celox just cleaned out with saline and 5 stitches i knew it was bad when the blood was running out thats why it was applied whether it was life threatening or not i wasn't taking the risk at £20 a pack i feel it was well worth it i would urge others to carry it in their first aid kit

approx 1 1/2 hours between getting cut and getting treated it sealed it up that good we ended up at the back of the queue i think if it was still pissing out we would have been taken a lot quicker all the nurse done was rinse it off with saline wiped then stitched him up clean as a whistle

Easy to say from the comfort of the computer chair I know but unless it was arterial (bright red and spurting) the chances are a pressure dressing would have sorted it but the important thing is you got the bleeding under control and got him to hospital so job well done! :thumbup:
