Massey clutch decided to let go, its a hydraulically pressure loaded unit. It means splitting the tractor which also meant dropping the inch thick steel belly plates and guarding = kin heavy :thumbdown:

The clutch lives in here and not on the engine

The drive damper springs had lost their newness so had some new ones fitted.

You're right Bob, land rover parts are cheap, easy find and normally easy to repair - you just have to accept that they need proper maintenance and frequent repairs 😊😆

As opposed to Jap which don't need frequent repairs.

If you like fixing stuff, fill you boots.

Ok thanks,

Not being all "I'm so concientious" or anything but does anyone else regularly remove the air filter on their chippers and give it a blow over with an ail line/blower between services?

Anally, along with the 2 rad cores.

Grinder air filter gets done after every job in the summer when the air is full of yellow clay dust.

Grease is an obsession, blades mostly every 25 hours and teeth sharpened on grinder before they require a mornings work...

Engine oil every 150hrs.

A man needs a hobby after all...

Good for you, as a general rule I only really like seeing that first word on a search bar on Red Tube.

Hi Wolfie, great picture. How long do do reckon that's been left for?

(You know that photo actually makes me a bit angry)

I think the air filter systems on some machines are inadequate.

A pre-filter for large particles should be a must.

Our Carlton 4012 is a good example.

Radiator and air filter right above the working head in a cloud of dust and chips.
