today when i went to start my husqvarna t540xp i put it on full-choke and pulled the starter rope 4 times , on the 4th pull the saw started without making the burp sound , it just started up like it would normally if it was hot so therefore i did not need to knock the choke off and pull it again.

is this a bad thing and what does it mean? , i have noticed this a couple of times before a while ago but i thought nothing of it at the time then it happend again today bare in mind i had just done full maintenance on the saw prior to staring it , cleaned air filter, checked spark plug , cleaned dirt of the inside etc.

can anyone tell me what this means?

Sorry i do not understand the question, are you saying it was running on full choke? on the forth pull did you touch the throttle, as this would have released the choke.

I can't imagine it's anything to worry about. One of my old strimmers started on full choke from day 1, and lasted for 9 years - and did a lot of work in that time! None of my saws, including the 540 start like that tho.

I think mine does that . Thing is it wont run for mor than a few seconds at WOT . Just cuts out .

If the choke on an engine doesn't fully seal, the engine will run on choke. If touching the throttle knocks the choke off then if you get to the throttle fast enough, it will continue to run.

An engine is very unlikely to continue to run on full choke - that is with the choke valve fully sealing the carb bore.
