This statement you believe to be fact is not true.:001_smile:

But even if it were so: cars are tested every year, there are huge differences in quality between different makes and models.

So why is there talk of us moving to annual testing like the rest of Europe???:confused1:

I tried finding a dropside Humbaur trailer for sale in the UK but nobody stocked them. I think it's an import tax problem that makes it too expensive for the UK.

The payload on them is generally much higher when compared with Ifors.

I found a used Anssems eventually & it's superb.

If you buy a Humbaur you'd probably be able to get a very good used price for it when/if you come to sell it..

Dunno about importing as a business, but for individual purchases normal vat is all? If you are vat reg, then within the EU you don't pay the vat in the country of purchase, provided you provide proof of export (shipping docs).:001_smile:

Anssems are good, I used to have one, very well built and stable.:thumbup1:

I've a Hapert turntable now, well happy with it:thumbup:

It's every two years for trailers under 3.5t. No such MOT here.

I don't think that there is an import tax on a trailer - European free trade area surely?

Because "people that talk" often talk bollocks? There will not be a trailer Mot in Britain (unfortunately) and still my point stands, not all things are made to the same standards.

I'd go for it - they look amazing compared to the low budget overpriced simplistic rubbish that comes out of IFW. I bought a well used Brenderup box trailer second hand the other day (I needed a cheap box trailer immediately) and I expected very little for the money - it is absolutely fantastic! Much better made than any Ifor, and makes Brian James look agricultural. Go European - worst case your residuals will be low and you'll lose a couple of hundred quid in a few years when you swap it back to British tat!
