We have some travellers moved in a couple of miles away, just seen some kids with lurchers mooching around near the yard.

 

Does anyone know what the signs / symbols that they use to mark out future "jobs" look like?

 

Someone told me the other day of an old couple who had been stung several times, once for a block paved drive. They had built a "sucker" symbol into the blocks themselves....

 

I had to laugh.

I have heard orange tape tied in hedge near by.

Some travelers near me, I've twice noticed a boot screwed to trees along the roadside. No idea if it's anything to do with them or what it is about

They have different signs in different groups.

 

I'm sure you take security very seriously Tom but don't be fooled by the kids there just scouts. I don't say this lightly but I'd either move um on or pay some one to move um on as long as there there your a target, scum the lot of em

If you were a traveller and thought you'd got an 'easy touch' would you leave a message for every other roaming traveller gang to call around, or would you call around your self the next time you were passing?

 

They would keep it to themselves and their close family for the next time they are by that way.

No not in the tree or shoe, It seems to mark the territory.

Since it was publicised in local paper of a dealer near us he moved and boots / shoes disappeared but they were there for the 6 years he lived here.
