Haha jon, sorry to drag arb talk down to this level, but it all started with a couple of girls that my kids know from neighbouring islands, strange how something simple goes viral, I think you should model the dress exclusively for arb talk!

depends which picture you look at I prefer the live model but without the dress :biggrin:

 

 

Seen one image which definitely looks gold & white. And another image which definitely looks blue & black. I rather think it depends how the image is generated and the saturation of colour & contrast. Then how that image is reproduced and the rendering software that your particular device is using.

It's to do with the material, and how varying light reflects it differently. Google the dress and read articles. A scientific one I read explained it. Don't know how to attach links I'm afraid

 

Rods and cones in the eye, and the different proportions in different people, the diffusion of light onto the image and what colours have been looked immediately before - all play a part in how different people perceive 'colour'.:confused1:
