The picture is real , its up to you to decide if what is depicted actually happened

1. Not rabbit tracks, more like small human shuffling.

2. A birds wings hitting snow would make a much more smudged impression.

3. No signs of struggle or usual carnage

 

Conclusion :- somebody fooling around with a stick

So Owl would not attack a rabbit head on ...only from behind . Hence wing pattern the wrong way round ......

I've caught rabbits in snow with hawks & there's usually. Just snow pushed all over where they've struggled together , I've seen a goshawk pick a rabbit up just with momentum , but drop it quickly ,
