Where are you based? Wages seem to vary massively between regions.

A fair observation but I'd say it's not so much the "region" but the person that makes the difference. Both the person doing the work and the person paying for it.

Tickets mean naff all... i know people who have climbing tickets and felling tickets and couldnt do either!

Guys who ha e tickets and are.good and can be sent to a job and fell climb dismantle tree safely are worth more.

Both may have same tickets but 2nd guy is better and worth more.

Some people need to take off the rose tinted glasses, experiance and being good is worth more than any tickets.

I dont care if someone has just gained cs38, will still have knees knocking, probabilly couldnt save you in a month of sundays and be un productive in a tree.

Experiance not tickets.

Experience is important, no question. But without suitable training and certification you're rather constrained in where you can work.

I know the tickets are needed but it just gives an example of 2 people with same tickets, both worth different money.

I agree, some people are willing to pay to have people on site that are good, productive and safe. While some people would rather save £20 and have someone not so. I guess it depends on the business

Unless the tree need climbing :lol:

:laugh1: obviously!

I wasn't specific enough I should of said an experienced groundsman is worth more than a slightly experienced climber.

Stick Carrier - £60 - £65

Groundy - £75 - £120

Climber - £120 - £150

Trickier/longer jobs add 20% or thereabouts.

That's in sunny Newcastle.

On a good day...

No I mean if he's working on the ground would you pay him a climbers rate just because he can climb

Sorry I see, if I need a climber and one groundsman or two and so on I would pay the groundsmen my rate for them if they had climbing tickets or not and climber their rate.
