Just read this- what's 'Water resistant' mean? If you work outside and buy a water resistant jacket you expect to keep dry, that's the whole point of wearing it. :confused1:

Yea its a miss leading turn of phrase . In court the burden of resistance lies with the prosecution ? Naa don't sound right does it ?

That's a question for the manufacturers out there! I guess it's the same as saying something is cut "resistant" they aint saying its cut proof but will offer protection.

When you are really working hard in winter, I just don't think you can keep dry no matter what. The biggest difference is between having cold water seeping through your jacket even in fine mist spray and being drenched by sweat, it is so difficult to stop that. Of course a breathable under garment is part of the way to go as it absobs your sweat and gives you a chance to be a bit dryer. As we all know, it is a real battle and a right pain.

But saying that, if the jacket is not fit for purpose and lets water in no matter what then insist on a refund and try something else. Only that way will the manufacturer take notice and correct their jacket.

Just my opinion...
