very good advice from theflyingscotsman for the price of a good chainsaw you could buy lots of gardening tools, spade,fork,loppers etc and even better you dont need a ticket for them

OK so you have no tickets, when I started I didn't have any, mostly because they didn't exist back then but I would have gone for it anyway. Just put them at the top of your "to do" list for the sake of keeping legit, and because many customers will require it.

 

No driving licence? well he is on with that.

Personally if I was in David's position I would be looking at doing at least a couple of years with another tree firm get tickets, Driving licence etc... Save a little each month and buy some basic tools then start working weekends and summer evenings on your own jobs until you have a small client base before taking the step and go it alone.

i have already said, I'm starting off small and I'm not planning on starting work till after march, but you're just being a c*ck thinking your better than everyone else and I have a mate with a tipper who is willing to help out on a Monday, Friday and Saturday and I didn't just copy and paste at all and for the Second time the website is there to see if there's any interest I already do garden work and little tree work so have that full back on

He has got experience but not much, driving test re booked and last I herd he was looking for a top handled saw.

 

Its unorthodox but if he cant find a job, and he has offered free labour, that's the only option

The way I see it is there's a pie and everyone is entitled to a piece.

 

Although I only do about 3 jobs a year that way so I'm not bothered about giving some free advice.

 

Come to the game and country fair in April as its all about networking in business. Someone might own some specialist kit that you might need to contract it one day.

Yes thats I wanted to do, but apart from stihlben last year for 2 weeks all ways in Buckinghamshire no one is interested local was even offering to work for free still no luck

You say can't get a job, When I first started up I worked the doors to get that bit of extra cash to buy and upgrade saws / tools etc I think you need the security of regular money until at least you have got the basic tools.
