What truck is it? Somebody on here had a 130 tipper, there was a bracket that slid out from behind the cab, swivelled round 90 degrees and locked into position which looked very nifty.

I've now swapped the vice for a parrot type one that is easily removed from the bracket so no need to turn it, also means the vice lives in the truck and won't go rusty, or walkies!

If you've got a dropside truck of any sort then the easiest thing by far is to use the dropside peg receiver as a receiver for your vice. Usually a good height for working too.

Just an idea but could you mount the vice on a strong magnet with a kind of swivelling bracket so you could just plonk it on the bonnet and take it off when you had finished? You could put a piece of colth between the magnet and vehicle to save scratching the paintwork. I have a worklight which is like this and it works very well
