I was gutted and it made me think I was to expensive , I then recalculated and still thought I was right. Some you win some you lose.

It may be down to what the others "NEED" to earn, i.e secretary/vehicles/rent of yard/rates etc.

Yep - so true unfortunately, Something always seems to go wrong as well when doing cheap jobs for family/friends I have found.

I recently priced a job to dismantel a macrocarper i gave them a quote bassed on 2 days work for 3 men, they so pleased with it they gave us an extra 100 pounds on top. There the customers you want.

Just send them a polite email explaining your cost and that you had given them a heavy discount for family and that's your price and your sticking to it.

 

There trying it on working for family always turns out problematic.

Yeah well I wasn't looking forward to the job as it's never straight forward when it's family! I have explained that the time and man power ringing timber up is the main part of it!

.You want to get them to help you to do the job, then they might realize what hard work goes into the job.
