I recently quoted for a job, it was a big job loads of climbing, a few conifers and a big spuce with the usual greenhouse and shed underneath. Anyhow. Somebody came in for half my price! I was gutted and it made me think I was to expensive , I then recalculated and still thought I was right. Some you win some you lose.

It may be down to what the others "NEED" to earn, i.e secretary/vehicles/rent of yard/rates etc.

Yep - so true unfortunately, Something always seems to go wrong as well when doing cheap jobs for family/friends I have found. :blushing:

Just send them a polite email explaining your cost and that you had given them a heavy discount for family and that's your price and your sticking to it.

There trying it on working for family always turns out problematic.

Yeah well I wasn't looking forward to the job as it's never straight forward when it's family! I have explained that the time and man power ringing timber up is the main part of it!
