Hi all, i have a two yr old Yorkshire terrier that really suffers with fleas, tried everything i can think of but cant seem to help him, he cuts himself to bits with scratching, i would be grateful for any advice as i hate to see him suffering but dont know what to do next, thanks in advance.

Other than the commercially available chemicals I've no other ideas.

 

Funnily enough my terrier had a bad dose of fleas about 3 years ago. Since then we've not treated her with anything and she's been fine. Walking in long grass all summer and not a sausage.

 

I think it's because she eats mostly 'human food' as in lean chicken and beef and may have an advanced immune system (she's a hardy bugger!).

 

Try a flea bomb, washing all the bedding in the house (hot) and buy a flea comb.

Hi there , we had a problem with our 2 jacks last year , tried frontline , loads of different shampoos and sprays and the only thing that worked for them was stronghold from the vets , hope you get him sorted soon

Advocate spot on . kills fleas and their eggs tape worm and crucially lung worm .

 

We had to switch to Advocate as apparently fleas are becoming immune to frontline.
