Someone on the ceforum is a dealer for giant equipment and there mini pivot steer tele looks worth a look think its german or Austrian made sitting on the rear section and oscillating joit aswell

If running equipment is important would it be worth a look at an alpine tractor running on the pto is always going to be more efficient than hydraulic motors

Or at a stretch a tracked skidsteer they will have more like 100lpm upwards hydraulic flow

So I'm seriously looking at an Avant. The 420 really appeals on size (and cost) but I'm concerned that the hydraulic flow is not enough. Initially I'll be lifting and loading but in the future would like the flexibility to run a flail, stump grinder etc. The 420 has a flow rate of 31 litres per min. The 528 is 36 litres. Doesn't seem like a huge amount but maybe it makes a big difference. What implements do others run off their machines? Many thanks

Hi there,

For the applicatins you are looking at I would suggest that a 420 isnt going to keep you happy for long with your future thoughts of running some of the more oil hungry attachments in the future.

Just reading through the previous notes I would suggest either a 635 and upward would run the sort of attachments you are looking at potentially.

The only part of the Avant range that do not have telescopic booms are the 200 series machines, but the latest version has more flow than 400 and 500 series machines, just doesn’t have the lift capabilities but if access width is an issue then it would be better.

There is a new stump grinder available that does a much better job than previous models, but would again have to agree with the guys before a dedicated machine is much better.

I am assuming you are looking at the 1500 wide flail so that it doesn’t take all day to get the job done.

We do have used equipment on our site that may be of interest. http://www.reachitmoveitcrushit.com/index.php/new_used_demo_avant_loaders_gyrustar_screening_bucket_digga_auger/?k=:16::

However there are a few more machines that I need to add as I haven’t updated it lately.

Give me a buzz if you want a second opinion about abilities as I also have a tree contracting business so I know what you are probably trying to get from the equipment.

Adam,

here are a couple of links that loosely compare the 2 but it's not an exact like-for-like:

Tried uploading a few pics but it's not working at the moment.

Kev, thanks for taking the time to talk about loaders with me today. I'm in exactly the same boat as you were. Will be doing plenty more research. Peter, look forward to speaking soon. I'll keep this thread updated with what I decide.

Pleasure Adam!

Let me know if you have a chance to look at the video!
