TW125 problem

Hello,

the most important things to check for correct no stress operation are the inductive sensor is as close to the trigger wheel tips as possible without touching and the engine is at the correct rpm at full speed.

TW125PH setting is 3400RPM.

Alternatively take it back to the dealership to correct. :thumbup1:

Hope this helps

Right-

The flywheel sensor was covered in crud so I gave that a birthday and also cleaned up all the relays.

Started the machine and the first thing was that it wouldn't tickover without some choke.

Eventually cranked up the revs and started chipping some birch.

2nd piece about 3" diameter, stress kicked in and all movement ceased for 30 seconds.

Chipped everything else ok for a couple of minutes, seemed to get better as it warmed up.

Knocked the revs off, and it was ticking over ok.

What next?

How do I find out if its kicking out 3400rpm at max revs?

I haven't got a tachometer and my local garage couldn't help.

Swap out the fuel filter? Didn't look any different, possibly not replaced.

There's a bypass in the stress control unit that bypasses the no stress- may help work out if the no stress or something else is at fault?

Assuming it's the same ECU as the tw150 I'd try the stress control bypass, then at least rounds it down to either an electrical stress control problem, or an engine/hydraulic one.

Recent experience with my tw150 makes me think either relay (srb500 but make sure it's a Lucas or hella brand not a cheap one) can be got from TW dealers, anywhere online or local motor parts place. If not ECU, but try the relay first as it's probably that and it's much much cheaper...
