Would not climb DRT with out mate,keep your ropes clean and last longer as there is less friction but most importantly climbing is effortless and smooth... If you have climbed without it may take a week or so to get used too but I can't see why any body would go back.

What is it like to use for section felling poles

 

 

If it's long enough I think it's safer to use as it provides a fast means of descent should you need it.

 

Or we're you planning to use it to rig down a pole? Not so good for that :P

Ok depending on size of poles and size of rope guide ... I have a snake anchor and pulley for bigger stuff or there is SRT... The rope guide choked hard can be difficult to retrieve.

Love it, retrieves pretty well even when choked on a straight stem. Had a teufelberger pulley saver and two home made pulley savers before I got the ART one, that sneaky release lever is a game changer.

You definitely won't regret getting one...
