Heat transfer

Currently I am sat in the living room sweating in a pair of shorts, however the rest of the house is freezing! Has anybody installed ceiling/floor vents with or without a fan to move the heat around?

They just push the heat out into the room, I want to transfer some of it to another room

Stayed in a house in Dunedin in New Zealand and they had fan and duct above fire that pushed air down in other rooms from ceiling. They were happy with it. Helps with damp as well I believe

Put a vent in wall close to ceiling in kitchen where stove is connected to inline fan switched on/off by room stat , ducted to sitting room. Don't know why but results were disappointing, 100mm ducting maybe too small, only a short run aswell😠

They certainly do. When I've stayed at Jons in the past, ive opened the bedroom door to be hit by a wall of heat......... I was really surprised how well the fan does work, oh and I fell in the fireplace and bent it one night. That Ciders funny old stuff!

I use a low wattage electric fan to push the heat out of the room, works very well, I would use an ecofan but don't have room above the fire for one.
