No could never afford 1!

Used everything from 200tow 220 tracked 300turntable and some big pto machines both hand and crane fed.

All good machines, heavy, well engineeredand with the hooped feed rollers would pull in almost anything but poorly finished of as in paint would fall of in days and all ate belts for fun.

Still 1day if I ever need a pto machine I'd have 1 2nd hand.

Because people keep fixing them as they cost so much in the 1st place you darnt replace it, bit like a landy ;-)

In fairness they cost very little more to repair than any other chipper on the market , yes they cost more but when you crunch the numbers taking into account , depreciation , useful life span , estimated down time , productivity and then do this with equivalent machines you will see that actually long term they cost less !

Someone else posted this link yesterday which just about sums it up.

Think as with all machines it depends on amount of use and length of time you intend to keep it and how long it'll take before its paid itself back, some may hav covered the purchase cost and be in cleared proffit after 6month some 6years just depends on your business model and availability of contracts.

I was thinking about getting a pto chipper for my 32hp kubota, and was considering the greenmech. It uses tractor hydraulics and seems well built. Any pros and cons?

The 5" schliesing is again a very good chipper . Dot be put off by it brig 5" either , when working for OCS the amenity team had one and it would pee all over any equivalent 6" chipper

We,ve a 200zx schliesling on the back of of our L3300 Kubota about 32hp on the shaft and it runs sweet. It's the one in our avatar. Makes the tractor a bit light on the front but a very solid machine which hasn't missed a beat in 7 years.

been looking at getting a pto chipper as have a DB996 sitting in shed not getting used much. read all the posts pros cons of different makes. all i need it for is for chipping up hedgerow brash from hedgelaying so max is 4inch any bigger goes for firewood. can you get smaller models and are they any good or go a bit bigger and have the power. i asume a db996 will drive one ok.

the cost of hireing in once a month with one of our own could chip as we go and have a job that will need it going when we lay hedges as no room for brash and the cost of hireing for 3 months would pay for one.
