I now do very little work with my saw probably a galon a month, I use stihls blue oil what ever its called, only because they didnt have the regular red stuff. It mentioned it had a fuel stabilizer in it. Do you think it will give the fuel a shelf life of over a month.

Hi,

I thank Aspen would be ideal for you and you KNOW it has no ethanol and will keep for 3-5 years!

Spoke to my mate again today and he said the first step was to approach the garage to see what they said, so he did but the Asian station manager who only spoke broken English dismissed him as though he was lying and said it wasn't the fuel and he was a silly man!

So trading standards have told him to keep the sample of fuel from the garage and now write a letter to shell to see if they are willing to do anything.

If a satisfactory result isn't acheived then it looks like he will have to go through the small claims court.

The fuel sample is being kept for now but he doesn't know whether there will be any point to having it analysed yet until he gets a reply from shell or they request it?

I hope shell take it a bit more seriously as it could of caused an accident, not to mention the hassle it has caused there customer.

I'll post back with the results of contacting shell. I have had an issue with shell in the past and there customer services are quite good so fingers crossed.

Do you mean motomix? The premixed stuff? that lasts 2 years IIRC.
