Heres hoping!

I'm going to contact the original tipper manufacturer for a price, and a local fabricator.

The chassis, tipping gear, posts and ali are all sound, so I'm hoping to receive some very cheap quotes.

If youre bed is as rotted as the one in the pictures you minds well end up getting a new one by the time were done we would have constructed vertually a new one but the cost of labour will most likely out weight a complete new one.

If there are only certain secitions which have rotted then thats no problem full new sheets/pannels can be constructed to original size and gauge.

I take it these are rotting so quickly due to being loaded with wet chip all the time I know the older solid steel ones were bad but no where near as bad as that in the picture.

also try looking out for a alloy bed

I'm in exactly the same position with my 06 double cab.

Bed and bearers rotten.

 

Truck is great otherwise.

get on ebay theres some of them bodies forsale

That body's had it, take it off & phone around your local breakers or eBay etc to get a 2nd hand one (£400 ish) then drive there in the chassis cab and slide new one on job done

That's probably what will happen mate, it's just a bit of a ballache logistically.

Im not sure why but its always the bodies with the alloy sides that go first! Paint comes off in massive flakes to reveal rusty underneath and then before you know it its rusty everywhere and holes are appearing!

 

Just to say my steel bed on my 56 transit is mint
