we had ours done free through a government grant/subsidy and a company called HSI i think They also insulated the loft at the same time...

I've had mine done through domestic and general FOC, Cavity wall and 12" of loft insalation. They also posted me about 10 free energy saving bulbs and if on a low income they help with a new boiler too. I've saved about £30-£40 per mth and didnt use heating at all last winter.

In the past it caused problems by not allowing the wall to 'breathe'... Check this...

if its anything like the 'free' loft insulation watch you dont get stung by some dodgy clauses. Have heard a few people caught out, the government/whatever will pay x amount towards it the client pays the rest.

 

 

Just get it all in writing before signing up.

Had mine done 4 years ago, house is a lot warmer in winter with out a doubt, its subd through the company doint it, so if they quote you say 300 quid thats what you pay, the actual joy might be 500 quid the gov pay the company the other 200, thats how it worked for me anyway. well wort it IMO
