Have you tried the pfanner jacket. Had mine a couple of months really like it comfortable to wear tight fitting in the right places. It's got 4 pockets, 2 chest 2 side pockets the side pockets sit a little high so you can get in them while wearing a harness. Its got grip material in the back so it doesn't ride up out of the harness all the time, and it's got the zipped heat vents under the arm. Only 3 downsides I haven't seen 1 in high vi, and I don't think it's storm proof I've worn it the rain and I was wet by end of the day but half hour drive home with no heater in I was dry, and finally the price it's Not cheap can't remember exactly but it's over 200 but I'd never have anything else now too comfy :)

I have had the harkie smock before. Good when i first got it, if a little warm, but definitely tuff. Didnt stay waterproof for long.

Replaced with the cut n climb jacket, had it a couple of months now but havent had a decent downpour to test it but it fits well and seems fairly tough but light weight

I bought myself and my two guys a stein hi viz work jacket each over 6months ago and there v good and at 40quid no biggy when they DO get ripped, torn and trashed.

I have the Pfanner and harkie , the pfanners are great but you feel like crying when they inevitably get damaged and the harkies are sweat suits but keep you dry from the outside.

Now I just do what Ian does and get the cheap steins or the cycling jackets that I think it was forest and Arb had at the APF for £40.

Light,breathable,weatherproof, cheap and throw away.
