Im not to fussed on what make of saw im using as long as its working!but i believe you will be seeing a down turn in stihls reliabilty and quality as they continue to be corpratised by stihl america and using cheaper castings metals and assembly and other bits....

I mostly use husky they are cheaper, and have always like the way they pick up ,rev and handle they always came out top in the woods imo, stihl has copied all the best features to there new saws.

Ive had good and bad saws from both stables but i alwayss liked the huskys i guess i have fond memmorys of the 262's i used when i first started.

Actually i lied.... I use this electric silverline chainsaw with a small genny to power it. I have to daisy chain quite a few extention plugs to reach the top of tall tree's.

Stihl and Husq are toys tbh.

Do new Husqvarna's still run on a rim sprocket?

Only ever owned one and that was 6 years back.Just wondering if there on rim or spur/star now?

yes still rim and spline sprockets but i think my 338 is on a spur???or am i confusing it with my 200T???:confused1:

Not an expert, but I think that Stihl are overrated compared to Husky.

Doubt if there is much difference in build quality & reliability.

Husky bars are slimmer & less kickback.

Anyone complaining a Husky wont start probably has the air filter switched to winter setting, or vice versa

Stihl for me nowadays, not knocking husks but I use 200t,200(rear handle) 260(ancient)460(solid saw) , oh, and ms170, the mutts! But they are all built down to a price, any brand.

Sthil they dont need as much matinence, but i loved 357s the ballance was brilliant and realy ergonomic, but I soon got used to my own sthil, my boss sold me, so now i love that saw although it feels a bit clunky think its a 260 long time since ive had a proper look at it, ive hardly replaced anything when I was borrowing huskys every week a bit of plastic or metal would break.
