I see in the next couple of weeks lidl has electric chainsaw sharpener for sale, around 16 quid, for me who just uses a saw for pointing strainers topping posts would this be a useful tool to have in the collection?

They have come up before and the general concensus is that they were OK for the dosh. They are useful for chains that have been mullered as they take the damage out much faster than a file can.

if its a pico chain then they will not do them only does the larger chains.

get a oregen 12volt chain sharperner can then touch it up in the field do a good job. looking at getting a new one for this season saves filing.

Can't see it at our store but they do have a drill bit sharpener for £20....

Available from 1st September.

Also see that they have an electric chainsaw at £49.99. Looks very similar to one I used in France this summer. It was surprisingly ok. Claims to have Oregon bar and chain. And 3 year's warranty.................. is it worth a punt at 50 quid for small domestic use?
