We'll assume you meant bailing, or you have a very patient wife:lol::lol:

Apologies for derailing, can't help with the poplar pricing.

Hi all have bin asked by a friend, who has been offed a load of standing popular, but he has to make him a offer. Any help

Normally people pay to have Poplars removed not a great deal of value in the timber especially as firewood. It burns but I would not step over beech to get to it. I have a pile of 3ft wide straight buts 8ft long if anyone wants to try some.

In the past the two main markets for Pop were matches and cabbage boxes, the boxes are now made from plastic and matches are mostly recycled timber.

Not sure if the biomass chip boys like it?? Stobarts might be worth a call to get an idea of standing value for chip.

It has some worth, wether that worth covers the cost of felling and removal with enough left over to be buying it standing or even removing for free I'm not sure.
