I got the truck back from the coach builders yesterday now all complete. First impressions is it’s...horrible to drive empty. The “bone shaker” comments I’ve read about it are all true. It has great power and and it’s fuel consumption is tiny. I’m sure it’s going to awesome when it gets put to work though.

Here’s a little walk around...

Incase anyone is interested, my very lovely 2012 4x4 Sprinter is on eBay now. I'm just not using it, so it's for sale. You'll not find a better example, and studies have shown that such a vehicle makes you at least 34% more manly ?

Very nice! Does it tow 3.5 tons?

Not quite. It's uprated to tow 3000kg, but I couldn't go to 3500kg without changing the rear diff, which wasn't economical. I think that the trailer/forwarder combo runs at about 3100-3150kg, and it handled that fine, though the hills (1 in 4) around here are tough going with 160hp. It's got a lot more power than a stock 313.

Yes for towing the CAT, I bought a smaller machine and van thinking I could do away with 4x4 and Cat, but due to location, snow, driving on forest roads and multiple jobs on the go I need to keep them.

If I could get a 4x4 sprinter that tows 3.5 tons I could sell the Isuzu and `Citroen Relay Van.

might be worth finding out what Diff ratio is required and try the forums / scrap yards etc.

Just speak to SV Tech. They'll be able to tell you. Infact, I'll give them a call today and I'll let you know :D
