Well went and saw and drove the little truck, took the 4wd version off road too. It was up at bruntingthrope test site.

Got to say was impressed. They have a off road section that the Isuzu dealers were using which although isn't massive in size has a couple of steep hill ascents and descents.

Also took it through water 2-3 ft deep at a guess. It had winter tyres on but otherwise it didn't blink or stutter at all! Apparently the Isuzu guys were impressed enough to blah test rides themselves.

It's not comfy like a bigger truck or a pickup but then has much better bed for use as a work truck ( all be it a small one).

I already have a 3.5ton truck and don't have space for another, this however will fit into my garage and be big enough to do the smaller jobs I am currently turning away as I'm too busy to do.

Going to look at the prices next and go from there.

The engine is a Suzuki model , he told what but tbh I forgot.

Well a quick update.

I tried to buy one of these.

was told by the imported at the drive it day where they had the official release of the 4wd model that they were in the country ready to go.

Got list of options available, had a chat, gave him details of what i wanted in order to turn it into a mini arb truck. Not problems as they had the staff to build anything i wanted.

Great.

Paid a deposit.

and..................................

that was july.

ive now just got the response that they no longer wish to proceed with the order, in not so many words blaming me.

I ordered it, told 4-6 weeks to build it ( most the bits were already in their available options catalogue).

8 weeks later and i cant remember how many calls and emails trying to find out any info whats so ever. Eventually i cancelled my order and this finally got a response.

they had only done a few mods in nearly 2 months that would take any body builder a day or 2 max. Literally the cut off 2 ladder supports, put a sheet across the roof and rear screen and started to fabricate a simple box. the upper sides is meant to be a factory option that slots into place.

Oh and cant have a 4wd as there is a problem, but wont say what or why.

From the start anything i asked them took a week minimum to respond to.

Its been by far the hardest ive ever had to try in my life to spend money!

funny thing is ive failed!

unless i am missing something if somebody was willing to spend over £20K on a brand new product id be jumping through hoops to keep them happy and promote my product.

I think this has potential to be a great little truck, unfortunately the people importing seem to have no desire to treat the customers as customers.

They have wasted my time and energy and i really cant see why tbh.

ill try and add a pic of what they did do in 2 months of work.

oh and the height had to be no higher than the cab but looking at those rear hinges they are way over!

Cheers

DFSK you have let yourself down terribly.

Was watching this thread with interest to see how you got on with this. Been wanting a similar thing and will avoid this now. I think will go for the fiat doblo instead if I can find a decent second hand one. Shame about the 4wd but really I can live 90% of the time without it.Fiat-Doblo-Work-Up-Rear-490x200.jpg
