Well, he got what he deserved . Don't understand it myself, this is the pinnacle of his chosen career and he throws it away.

 

I don't think he did get what he deserved. I can't see there room in any professional sport (or indeed any profession) for someone who attacks a fellow professional. He should have been banned for life.

To me this whole episode merely confirms all my thoughts about the sport 👎

I'm not a die hard football fan but enjoy following my team ( Crystal Palace ) but he should be banned for life.

He doesn't represent what I consider the game is about.

Can't see what all the fuss is about, it's no different to sliding tackles studs first, all the elbows in the face all on purpose....ban him for life then you would have to do it to the rest of them. I'm sure there's been far worse, it's just the cameras don't miss anything now.

Sort of agree with that, in comparison: cantona was banned I think for 8 months for his kung fu kick on a fan (who probably deserved it), zidane blatantly headbutted a fellow player and then retired. Suarez has lost the opportunity to play and maybe win the greatest and most important games of his whole career,and its something he will regret the rest of his life.He,s still a thug in my eyes ,but he has been properly punished.
