.....still can't find any form of small compessor to clean saws on site(see earlier post).......so,would an iflated mini tyre tube have enough puff to clean 2 saws once? Or,would it need to be the size of a giant lorry tube strapped to a roof rack??? .....(am concealing my name so i don't look tooo stupid).

you'd have to leave it within the tyre and rim or you'd end up with a giant rubber ring without that much pressure in. you'd be better off getting an old lorry wheel complete and over inflating it to 80 psi but I don't know what the hse would think to it as it could be classed as transporting compressed air. Or you could modify one of those blow guns the tyre boys use for seating the beads on tractor tyres

Just get an old air reservoir tank off of a lorry and make sure its not too rusty and charge it to 100 psi and should have enough ooompf to blow out a couple of saws. And you could charge it with a fag lighter powered compressor (12v) :001_smile:

A tube on its own would be a liability, over inflate the spare a little and use that use that, just remember to top it up and or let a bit out of you have to use it in anger, or you could stop aresing about and use a brush for field servicing and a compressor in the workshop.

Small gas bottle (many sizes out there, just look on the verge) cut the head of and weld a normal 1/2" thread on it, then you can just fit whatever connections, valve, hoses etc you want on it. I doubt you'd be able to break it with a normal compressor and it'll hold plenty of air to blow some saws down.

Having said that, I wouldn't go through the trouble and just clean my machines when I'm back home as and when needed.
