Nah, I'd want 850 for getting it down, another 250 for shutdown, on the condition I got the wood. Sell the wood to Bob for 200 and sub Stevie to do the job at his easy hours work for 100 quid.

I'll be in the pub.

Simples.

That's the "Alan Sugar" spirit.......

Did a little job Tuesday, as is often the case, the neighbour asked for a quote on a job for them. Told them to expect "thick end of £1500" before I do any detailed costings. Turns out, they've had a quote for £400!

I NEED to know who's working at those rates so that I can sub them in and retire to Corfu!!

The devil is in the detail.

I reckon it's bigger than it looks.

Decking it in a day shouldn't be a problem (or an hour for Stevie), and separating the cord from the brash, but how small does the cord need to be? Is a jumbled pile pretty much anywhere ok?

I'm happy to pop over and give a proper written quotation for £2k cash and 48 cans of Stella (Le Grandes, mind. 440ml's are devaluing our industry).

id put a couple of days for two people, as theres a lot of crown to stack and that trunk that looks like it will blunt a saw in no time and would need to be cut bloody small to be managable for a homeowner, plus id say two on the ground would be more efficient.

shame to loose it tho.

Shutdown not required the 2 tree lengths is if your felling it, if dismantling then a distance of 9 meter is what your looking for. At 9 meters (drip line to pole, or in this case i would go for the stay wire) your outside of the proximity zone and dont need to even tell the power company.

two men, a days work £500/600 i would say, crack on.
