Hi Everyone,

Just a quick one, what would be your first buys when it comes to rigging ? I do not have any equipment as yet but would like to get ropes, slings, pulleys ect. makes and models would be a great help. nothing to fancy just to be able to lower limbs slowly and controlled.

Thank you

I would say start with a micro rigging kit, less to go wrong till you get used to it

A sling, a steel biner, a pinto rig pulley and a bit of Sirius in 12 or 14mm and a friction device would be my choice.

Agreed.

If your not experienced in big rigging just start with the above.

I can recommend the Stein inverterwrap - Small, light, cheap but strong enough to handle fair size bits.

True, but why get into bad habits at such an early stage? Stick a pully on the steel krab and it will run a lot easier, not damage the rope, looks better and they are not exactly expensive or heavy.

Either a pinto rig or a swing cheek pulley.

I have a 14mm rope and that's done me really well, I've rigged some big piece of beech the it her day (6' 20-24" ) no problem. If I was starting out I'd get.....

14mm rope 50m

Small isc pulley

16mm dead eye sling

Couple of steel rigging caribiners

Couple of rigging slings

And either a flying capstain( whoopie sling required) or a bollard.

That'll cover most situations! Rigging kit is like climbing kit, the more you do the greater the amount of kit :P
