cord/round wood prices

Recommended Posts

Hi All

just wondering what you guys think I should be paying for mixed hardwood,

processor size loads, last load 32 cubic metres = £2520 inc vat, gone up £300 on last years price per load. what prices are you paying for hard and soft wood loads. we are based in devon if that makes any difference.

I think we may be looking for a different supplier any suggestions (8 wheeler and dray only) as no artic axcess.

Thanks chris:confused1:

Jesus that does sound a lot, £78 inc vat or £65 exc vat per cube surely doesnt leave much profit?! I wouldnt bother at that. Im currently working on each cube sold costing me

£20-£30 in timber.

Was offered some cord recently, delievered in at over £60 ton. Thats too much for me.

Cost of cord a ton, £10 as standing timber, £15 for cutters, £5 to extract. Sell at £45 a ton leaves £15 ton to cover the cost of renewing machines and vehicles, oil filters, breakdowns, premises, insurances, wages and lost work days because of weather. So i see cord wood as under priced and you are selling your hardwood firewood to cheap!
