wow!,but i hope you are not mincing around with those girl sized bits though?

No matty, I keep practicing with bigger bits, I'm trying to levetate them sideways into the back of the truck, but I can only levetate them straight down to the ground at the moment.

Having trouble with the speed of desent as well, but practice makes perfect :001_smile:

The whole point of it is not to have to put the saw down inbetween, there's not need to go that fast or to cut that far through, just to cut enough to hold the saw while you shove the top peice off.

Very good technique badly demonstrated

not really sure why you think it,s badly demonstrated

for me the reason to cut 90% is that the weight of the log will slightly hold the chain and is less likely to fall out and the chain is further away so less chance to catch himself on it

now in no way am i condoning not using the chainbrake but as mentioned if the log slightly traps the chain then thats a plus point to meas when top logs released pressure would be less

You go as far through as is needed to hold the saw in place..

By "badly demionstrated" I mean the pointlessness of going like a madman on speed.

Each movement or action should be thought through, it should be a demonstration of the technique not how fast you can throw a chainsaw about

First time i watched it i agreed with you Dean, but it didn't seem as fast second time around. He is in total control of the saw and his actions at all times, cannot see a problem with the pace or the technique! However, it appears he has only one point of attachment to the stem, i ALWAYS use 2, i consider it like a seatbelt in my car, it gives u that backup should you ever need it! And working at that pace, u are more likely to need it then if ur taking your time!

Not sure what the reason is for the big bar, seems studid hauling that thing around when a smaller saw would do the job! He's demonstarting how to be more efficent blocking down and not having the saw hanging on your harness between sections, yet wastes energy having to use a saw of that size to begin with - he's either climbed up with the saw or pulled it up to himself - not very energy efficent imo!
