I am very curious to know more about this. Was it a freak occurrence or was the tree's toppling caused by the activities? I will keep an eye on the story to see if tehre is any more reporting. Horrible business for the parents during a 'family fun day'. I had been thinking about taking my daughter to one yesterday.

Not that far from here, maybe twenty miles. Weather was quite gusty for about twenty four hours but ground is fairly dry.

They showed the remains of the roots on the news report this morning, there wasn't a lot left from what I could see.

 

Looked typical for meripilus. That's not a diagnosis but something had definitely been doing bad things to the roots.

Yes, would have landed on the pub if it had fallen differently. Just had a quick drive up but not allowed a proper look until brewery bods have been..
