Bung it in a pillow case in the washing machine, works for me, but as has been said, I don't really bother, only if it gets dragged through shite in some dirty scrotes garden :)

Same here, I got hold of a net bag with a drawstring to replase the pillow case tho.

Olive oil works pretty well for resin....with bucket of hot water and a scrubbing brush. Some weeks I'll have to wash the Same line 3, 4 consecutive nights if I'm unlucky.

washing machine every time for me, i do not use a pillow case or draw string net bag as it localises too much weight into one area and causes the washing machine to jump around the kitchen ! I simply coil my rope (loosely) and place it into the machine and wash with non bio at 40 degrees and spin it out at 1,600 rpm and it comes out nearly dry.

Feel your pain Reg. Did a dirty Doug a couple of weeks back (40'), and my vt took a couple of days to recover.

Are you mechanical yet?

I wash dirty ropes/cords in a machine all the time, always have done.

Spray them with a hose outside, tie them in an electricians braid, pop them in a machine on a wool setting.

Bingo.

I am still alive, despite manufacturers instructions....

Yeah its a pain in the bo llocks. but if it you hit some really bad resin bubbles and leave it overnight it can soak in to become permanent hard spot in the line. Will bring you to an absolute halt when your hitch hits it everytime there onwards.

Mark I got the spiderjack for double line. Not mastered it yet though. Still on the ropewrench with hitch on a single line.

Edit: just hit a thousand posts. Been a member since day one I believe. Is there a prize ?

I lay mine down on the yard and steam clean them then just hang them up to dry quick & easy and no agg from ol,woman, also steam the winch ropes from the defender if they get too grubby
