I'll second that.

Though, will add that you can use the compost you made in your compost heap to mix in as the fertiliser. If shady lawn, use appropriate seed for area and rather than hire a scarifier or fork out hundreds for one, buy an oregon scarifier blade that has spring tines on. Fits on most rotary mowers. Does the job great and costs £15.

Remember that acidic conditions in courage moss. Long term iron sulphate will make the soil more and more acidic, Better is to add lime which works or MO Bactor which eats the moss.

Some people want to spend 16 hours when 1 hour with MO Bacter will do :001_rolleyes:

Sure, add ons don't get to the root of the matter but that can be spead over seasons. MoBacter all the way.

Spray it with ferrous sulphate, scarify, aerate using a petrol aerator (stuff using a hand tool), top-dress, seed, 6 months down the line spray half dose sulphate once a month, you'll have a lawn to envy! And always scarify in spring and autumn, it's better for good roots!
