Why has a dealer yet again hijacked a thread trying to flog his gear? The post was to forst owners nothing was mentioned about bandit until dean jumped in!

Wrong.... Simon mentioned Bandit

Ok children, we've got 2 Forsts. The lights play up a bit, though they have been out to fix them. The top feed roller guide gets bunged up with twigs etc when chipping conifer. It means the rollers don't come together too well. Takes a bit of effort to unclog. I believe there is a retrofit to sort this.

Good aggressive in feed. Enormous torque setting on the blades. Easy enough to do the outer nut, can't get a standard socket and the torque wrench on the inner one.

Chips well, tows well, feeds well, 3 years parts and labour warranty, what's not to like.

I have had my mind set on bandit for the last year now but after thinking about it can i really justify the extra cash for a machine that doesn't really do anymore?

If you live close to Redwood, get the Forst.

If not, get the Bandit.

Good point IC.

What about approaching the dealer and asking to hire the machine for a week/month and if you buy it, will they knock the rental off the purchase price.

A mate of mine Stuart Taylor international is looking into getting a dealership for forst chippers so it will make life a lot easier for servicing and any warranty work having a dealer in the north west

I like that idea. you cant get the feel for a machine in just a few hours of use.

We have had our forst for just over a week. So far i still say over all its the best chipper ive used  would like a pair of handles on the front of the bonnet tho to help man handle it, but only a small gripe
