More timber fairies

Don't know what everyone's moaning about, we use this to our advantage!

 

We do a fair bit of commercial work where they just want the tree gone, we can't be bothered to cart the wood around most of the time, so we log up, maybe take a few 'prime rib' bits, make a tempting stack of the rest by the roadside and by morning it's all gone - even the real knotty crap. It's brilliant!

 

For some though Ben, logs are their main source of income & for others logs supplement their other business interests or like myself, all of the logs I generate from tree work I use at home so I don't have to buy them.

seems this thread shatters some illusions lol as you are indeed living in a society where if you leave wood lying around it will be scavenged desperately by the locals in order to heat their homes through the colder winters. Think on that.

It was recently in the press that 20 % of all prisoners are caravan dwellers ( well they have a roof over their heads now and cannot nick much !!! )

 

 

What a complete and utter crock of , you got a link to this? Where did you read it Sun or daily mail? Do you believe everything your drip fed by these tosser s?

Working for a guy the other week, taking down some 40 year old plum that was in this planter thing so it was only 15 feet high.

 

He was telling me how he got all his wood because 'some nice chaps leave the wood by the roadside for anyone to take' I asked him where it was from and turns out he was nicking from some commercial woodland and when I explained it to him he suggested they don't leave it where he can easily take it...

I caught a guy on my land the other day with a chainsaw merrily helping himself ! When challenged he called me a rather unsavoury word and became quite aggressive. I made him unload all the logs out of his car into my truck (I thought about throwing his chainsaw into the river). He had no safety equipment at all and no doubt if he had had an accident then he would have sued me !!! I phoned the police, not lookin to press charges but to let them know an they said that as it is 'only' trespass that it is not a chargeable offence. The lovely young lady then proceeded to inform me that as I couldn't prove that I planted the tree that I could be argue it isn't mine !!! - go figure !! I had to bite my tongue and thanked her for her kind advice !! ...Next time the saw is going in the river !

I've lost all faith in them and will just continue to turf people off. However, there was a lovely 80 yr old man with a handsaw out yesterday so I helped him load his car up and told him to come and ask me for help next time. Don't mind the odd good ol'boy every so often but younger capable of working lot can pay for it !!
