but surely it would make life (for the doing this tree) so much easier out of a mewp it'd be well worth it :confused1:. have you ever worked out of a mewp?

Doing those wellies out of a mewp would of been slower than climbing and dare i say it impossible to do properly, for instance its not always possible to get the basket close enough to the stem through the branches to do a proper cut. Also you'd more than likely need to fold the whole platform up and move it to do the entire crown.

Yes platforrms are easy all you do is stand in them, i do use them they have there place.

If you read the start of this thread you'll see that the platform was used for access and the wellies were climbed.

I could probably deadwood those trees quicker, to a higher standard and with higher profit by climbing there is also a lot to be said for climbing, your closer to the tree and see things within the crown closer.

Great pic Hazzygawa, thanks for posting it here.

Don't be put off by the debate your picture has started - it's all good stuff and not meat as a criticism to you.

Out of interest, how long did each tree take? Do you feel much time was saved accessing the crown with the MEWP?

Looks like a fun job either way.

i wreckon huck was in that basket with deab when it fell over and has never been right since:001_tongue:

We tried to con Huck yesterday into getting into the mewp basket so we could speed up the queue for the zip line, he was having non of it, he knew we would take the opportunity to photograph him in the basket.

Those photos could have sold at christies for quite a large sum
